Rainy season starts on June in the Philippines. So why in the heaven did we drive up to south on a windy and downpour day?

On that Sunday morning, the rain was still heavy. We went out because we are gonna get wet, anyway. Extra tees, shorts, gross and silly stories, and some snacks for the trip. These are what we brought on our drive south. Wakeboarding was on our list!

Registration

A simple form has to be filled in and signed off before trying out the wakeboard. I chose a life vest and a helmet in exchange for my ID. Then, mustered up all the courage I have, got ready for the thrill.

There are two man-made pods we could choose. One for professional (in my view) and one for beginners. I chose the latter. It was my first time trying the activity and had beginner’s crazy moments. I fell flat on stomach and on the back like I have been swept away. All times with so much conviction of not failing but still did many times. Haha!

Actually, beginners lesson is required. After an hour, a build-courage-confidence-balance lesson has gotten into my thick head. I mean, at least a little of it but I ran out of time.

Food

We drove back a little to Nuvali Road and chose Ryuma Restaurant to have hot ramen. What better thing to eat on a rainy day? The food was affordable. One more thing, I did not know I could finish a bowl of ramen with rice. Wow, right?! It was really good to eat after a great deal of pull, slide and swim in the water. Phew! I just hope they also have my favorite Tonkotsu Ramen.

Budget

Some girls like me love to go out without losing our head on the expenses. Here’s a guide.

I will never forget the happiness I felt while riding the board. The sore muscles I got after a day of playing was a validation. It was terrible but all worth it. Now that I think of it, wakeboarding could be the way to lose arm fat. Nice! Oh, the reason why we drove south? Wakeboarding!
