Indo-West Plate Restaurant
(Sadly) CLOSED DOWN as of APRIL 24, 2018
“Tasty, affordable, worth the wait”, some of the words to describe the plate of beef rendang and bowl of seafood laksa soup. I would also say, “totally crazy”. I’m used to eating spicy food because I was born in Southern Luzon but the serving of sambal (mixture of chili pepper and other ingredients) and beef rendang sent a fiery touch to my mouth down to my tummy. Crazy enough to almost made me cry.
The place was deserted when we arrived at the end of February night. We were greeted warmly by a smiling lady and a gent. Then, we were asked to be seated in the second floor which we didn’t know existed until we went inside. We chose a good table by the window.
The place was clean and comfortable. And the best part? The food is awesomely good!
We ordered beef rendang, Php 169, which comes with cuts of tender beef or sapi, half spoonful of sambal over slices of fresh cucumber, fried fries and steamed white rice. The beef was highlighted with so much flavor. I tasted coconut milk and it was cooked like beef stew in the Philippines. The sambal was really spicy but it was more than just crushed chilis. There’s saltiness and so much more.
The seafood laksa soup, Php 229, was amazingly satisfying. A bowl can be enjoyed by two but for someone I know, it’s enough to fill one army-like-tummy. The soup was deliciously empowered by mussels. It was richly flavored and filled with shrimps, small slices of octopus, fishballs, cuts of tofu, few green veggies and of course, mussels. It was partnered with white vermicelli (Bihun), some yellow noodles, and sambal on the sides.
To complete our Indo food trip inside Makati, we ordered Indo-tea, Php 35. It tasted like my favorite boiled avocado leaves. This brought back memories of home and mom.
It was nice to find a place like this. A restaurant nearby serving incredibly good Indonesian food and something new from the usual ramen hunt.
Happy eating!
Direction: From Guadalupe MRT station, take a jeepney going to Makati City Hall and alight in Reposo Street (kindly ask the driver to drop you off in Reposo). Take a walk on Reposo Street which should be on the left side of the road. The restaurant will be on your right. It should be in front of Quicklean Laundry Shop.

Nice!
Thanks Joel!
Sadly, they changed the management and Indo-West is no more. 🙁 We were able to eat there a few days before it closed down. It is now a Pinoy Inasal place. 🙁
And, hey, you blog!
That’s sad. I actually heard the same thing from my love. Still remember their tea, love it! I think it is time to update the page. Thank you for dropping by Mari! 🙂
