“…love is more delightful than wine.” That was mentioned from the famous book of Song of Songs (The Songs of Solomon). Who would not agree that LOVE is certainly a good feeling? I know, we are now in 21st century and we are far from the era when that book was written but there are poets and artists that like Solomon wrote their deep feelings of love. Not just that, they brought it to the next level with the beautiful combination of pitch and rhythm. The result? A love song.

For you, here are our top picks of love songs.

1. Manatili by Vanz Bonaobra

“Bumabagal ang mundo, tuwing ika’y nakikita
Ako’y napapangiti, pag ika’y nariyan
Di mapigil ang tuwa sa aking isipan
Bumibilis ang pulso, di alam ang gagawin.”

This artist knows how to pick words and combine them altogether and give you that fuzzy feeling. It is so beautiful that listening to every line will give you courage to admit that special feeling you have for someone.

“The song was written on 2016. It’s a story of the past about admiration, that you want to keep that someone by your side.”, Vanz said. He write songs to represent the voice of many.

2. Kuwento ng Pagibig (KNP) by Pusakalye

Pusakalye is often heard with their hugot (sentimental) songs. They released “Kuwento ng Pagibig” (story of love) in Spotify on Feb 14, 2019.

“Iingatan ko ang puso mong di mo pinagkait,
At araw-araw kang mamahalin.”

Those words cut straight through the heart. Every bit of the lyrics was crafted with the writers sincere love. Here are what the songwriter, Ian Mante, said when asked about KNP.

Ian was also asked about what he wants the listeners to think of while listening to KNP.

Aww! I reviewed his answers and it seems like Ian answered the questions while silently singing in his head. No doubt, he has a happy relationship with his 10 years long-term girlfriend, April.

There was a time when Pusakalye played “Kuwento ng Pagibig” at Skinny Mikes Sports Bar at The Fort, Bonifacio Global City when a couple from the audience marked another beautiful chapter of their life. The man kneeled in front of his long-term girlfriend, took out a ring, held her girls right hand and proposed a marriage. The chills!

3. Sayaw ng Pag-ibig by Michan

This one has a great story to tell. Inspired by Same Day Edit (SDE) videos, Michan, beautifully crafted the melody and wrote lyrics of Sayaw ng Pagibig. A year later, it was played on her sister’s wedding day. What a perfect timing, don’t you think? “Parang meant to happen for me to write the song,” Michan said on one of our chats.

It has been a while now when I last saw and heard Michan play this song. But I will never forget how my heart throbs like crazy when I heard her sing “Sayaw ng Pagibig”.

“Umiindak na ang kaliwa mong paa
At ako naman ay sumusunod sayo
Hawak mo ang kamay at puso ko
Sumasabay sa sayaw ng pagibig ko sayo.”

Now, isn’t that something you would want to hear on your wedding day? Listen to it on Spotify and don’t miss Michan by following the link below.
